Hangs Upon Nothing is an aesthetic masterpiece, lovingly captured on 16mil by artist/filmmaker/musician Jeremy Rumas. Six years in the making, this ode to Indonesia and beyond combines sublime surfing, compelling cinematography and an original score by Turbo-fire to Zenith. Channelling the essence of Morning of the Earth and mixing it with the pure vibe of Litmus – its a must see for our generation.

We found a great interview with the filmmaker Jeremy Rumas on Korduroy TV - check it out here and more about the film at www.hangsuponnothing.com/

The London Surf Film Festival is on at Riverside Studios in Hammersmith from 31st October to 3rd November, check out the full line up of features here ..  we'll see you there!

Lets go to the movies!

We can't believe its already that time of year again but the London Surf Film Festival is fast approaching ..   dates for your diaries ..  31 Oct - 3 Nov 2013 ...

A little birdy tells us Big Friday & Surf Sistas will be giving away a holiday in the approaching lines room so you will be missing a trick not to come and see us there ..   we will also be collecting for a very special charity so its #winwin all round .. come and say hi :)

Back to the important stuff .. the films!   We can't believe the line up this year, its like LSFF got inside our brain matter and gave us everything we wanted for Christmas ..   here are some of the films that we've been dying to see and now we get to see on the BIG SCREEN .. yay!   Which one is going to be this year's North of the Sun .. thats the question! (by which we mean our festival fave).

First up the UK premiere of Bella Vita .. surfing from some of our fave style masters and mistresses and Italy .. whats not to love here ..

BELLA VITA FILM from Bella Vita Film on Vimeo.

Then from director Mark Waters we can't wait to see the Salt Trail..

The Heart and the Sea .. is it ok to want to see a film just because of the name? If the name hadn't been enough then the sight of Kassia Meador, Lauren Hill and our favourite glamour girl Cote de Basque in the trailer sealed the deal ..

and The Fortune Wild .. this feels like entertainment to us ..

Which ones do you want to see? Check out the full line up of features here and keep an eye on the LSFF website to see when tickets go on sale .. its sure to sell out like last year!

We are Festival Friends!

We are super excited that the London Surf Film Festival will be back for a 3rd year at the Riverside studios in Hammersmith & this year Surf Sistas are a Friend of the Festival which means we will have some exciting giveaways surrounding the event and we will be there supporting, particularly the involvement of female surf film makers - we want to see more of you!   There will be four days and nights of the latest international surf film premieres .. who can forget last years heart warming  North of the Sun which quite rightly won viewers choice!  Not to mention screenings of the shortlisted Shorties, the short film contest that YOU can enter!

The Approaching lines room at the festival is back for a second year, bigger and better, its a great place to check out surf related art, meet surf artisans and chat about their work, have a beer, listen to music and catch up with friends old and new  ..

Dates for your diary are 31st Oct - 3rd November!  The last two years all the films have sold out so make sure to get your tickets in advance.
