Summer is here! Lets go surfing ..

It feels like summer is finally here, time to enjoy the bluest of blue seas, golden sands and lush summer waves of our very own beautiful Cornwall.    This summer we have beginner and improver weekends running hand in hand, perfect if you are coming with friends with different levels of surf experience!

All weekends include transport from London if required, two nights stay in a fantastic 4 star surf lodge, breakfasts, surf coaching, a table booking at a great eaterie on Saturday night and a surf goody bag from Oakley. With our Surf Sistas host on hand to help you make the best of your weekend we can also arrange spa massages and treatments, other beach activities like Stand up Paddleboarding or surf rafting and point you in the right direction of the perfect beachside cream tea or coast path walk.

Wetsuit Quivers

Wetsuit quivers are the new Surfboard quivers ..  we used to go weak at the knees for a new board but these days we are all about adding to our ever expanding wetsuit collections .. who cares if the jet stream doesn't want us to get out of our sturdy 5/3's, we still want a part of all these amazing suits that are popping up around the globe .. Tallow, Mother of All Things, Alope and those gorgeous but 'limited edition unavailable in Europe' capsule collaborations between the big brands and designers  .. yes Cynthia Rowley and Roxy we are talking about you .. :)

Fortunately for us we can combine our internet wetsuit shopping with something a little closer to home as one of our favourite independent wetsuit designers is right on our Cornish doorstep ..    Elsie Pinniger, designer and owner at neon kindly gave a masterclass at our recent White to Green improver course, and while we Sistas were all listening intently it was clear that we were mostly all thinking how do I get my hands on her wetsuit!

What happened next can only be described as a neoprene bunfight as we all descended on the neon studio to check out colours and designs and discover who had the biggest armhole size .. no we're not saying who, she knows who she is..

This glorious sunshine is getting us excited about the summer and the great outdoors and nothing says 'summer escape' to us like our Cycle Surfari in France.  The annual Big Friday cycle surf is a cycling, surfing and camping trip from Hossegor to Lacanau.  We peddle through shady pine forests, and sleepy French villages to countless surf breaks en route.  Each day as we hit the cycle paths with our boards to seek out our next surf spot, our trusty van and crew take all the luggage to our next camp site by the beach, pitch our tents and cook up a storm! 

Its like Swallows and Amazons on bicycles with waves, baguettes and red wine...   what could be better than that!

Make this the summer you learn to surf because ..

.. its fun!  Just like we have left it a bit too late to win Wimbledon we are not all going to make it to the upper rankings of the worlds best female surfers .. but none of this matters because nothing will bring a smile to your face like your first ridiculous wipeout!

.. it will keep you fit!  Not only does surfing keep you fit but your new surf addiction will inspire you to keep up all your fitness resolutions in between surfs so that your surfing will improve in leaps and bounds..

... it makes you feel good about yourself!  Challenging yourself to learn something new, hanging out in a wetsuit or bikini (see point 1 - you are having too much fun to care!), heading back to the real world with salty hair, a sun kissed face and sand between your toes.. all of this makes for a happy soul!

... you will make new friends!  We didn't call our company Surf Sistas for nothing, meeting like minded surf buddies is one of the best parts of surfing in our eyes! Road trips, dance-offs, cocktails, sunset beers, , adventures, road trips..
